Brandon Jacobs Says Teams Are Interested In Signing Him As A Defensive End

If Tim Tebow can get a look at tight end, why can’t any former NFL player try their hand at a new position? That was Brandon Jacobs’s thought, at least.

Earlier in the offseason, the former New York Giants running back revealed that he was trying to make a comeback – as a defensive end.

Brandon Jacobs turns 39 in July, but he still thinks he can not only compete as an NFL defensive end, but also be dominant.

“I think my ability as a defensive end, as an old man as they regard me, I think I can be one of the best in the league right now,” said Jacobs to Houma Today.

Brandon Jacobs currently stands a monstrous 6-foot-4, 265 pounds, and likened his stature to star pass rushers Myles Garrett, Chase Young and Joey Bosa.

Jacobs initially used Tebow as an example on why he could make the switch to the defensive side of the ball.

Even with the odds against him, Brandon Jacobs is going to give this whole defensive end thing everything he’s got. And if it doesn’t work out, he’ll be just fine with that.

“I don’t want to throw names out there just yet because I was told not to, but it’ll be a shock,” Jacobs said. “If I don’t get an opportunity, it’s fine. I’m currently coaching high school football and running a youth program, which I’m perfectly content with doing the rest of my life.”
