All-Women Broadcast Team Set to Call a Major League Game For the First Time

The sports world is more inclusive than ever, and things seem to be progressing for women on and off the field. We have seen an incredible shift in culture as all-women broadcasts have taken the sports world by storm. Major League Baseball is the next professional sport where we will see some incredible women lead us through the Baltimore Orioles visit to take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

First reported by the New York Times, next week will feature MLB’s first-ever all-female lead broadcast coverage of the sport, having an amazing crew on board for the historic event.

Airing on Youtube next Tuesday, leading the charge will be Baltimore Orioles play-by-play announcer Melanie Newman, with Sarah Langs serving as the in booth analysis and Alanna Rizzo as the on-field analysis.

Joining them will be Heidi Watney and Lauren Gardner as anchors of the pre and post-game shows.

The women takeover is going to be fantastic.
