Saints Reportedly Considering Major Move For QB

The New Orleans Saints appeared to make their decision at the quarterback position when they re-signed Jameis Winston during free agency.

But there are now rumblings that the team isn’t settling there. Obviously, New Orleans can still consider selecting their QB of the future during the upcoming NFL Draft — where they currently have the #16 and #19 overall picks. But those picks might be too late to select the guy they want.

With this being the case, it’s being reported that the Saints are interested in packaging both of their first round draft picks in order to trade up to select either Malik Willis or Kenny Pickett.

When the college football season initially ended, it was widely predicted that Kenny Pickett would be the first QB taken off the board. But after a series of impressive workouts, Malik Willis has been coming on strong as of late.

With this year having a weaker QB class (on paper) than others, there will be an added emphasis on teams selecting either Willis or Pickett.

For the Saints to land either of the top two quarterbacks, they’ll need to make a move. And by the sounds of it, they’re exercising all options ahead of the draft.
