New Report Ties Brett Favre to Potential Political Corruption in Mississippi

The old gunslinger is in a bit of hot water.

Former NFL Quarterback Brett Favre is reportedly being tied to some potential political corruption in Mississippi. When it comes to shady activities in his home state, this isn’t Favre’s first rodeo. The former Packers QB received $1.1 million in welfare funds from the state, and he never even showed up for his scheduled appearances.

Favre managed to pay that money back, but only after it was revealed.

Now Favre is once again under the microscope, as there’s a report tying Favre to potential political corruption in Mississippi. Favre is being linked to a company he invested in, some public welfare funds, and Mississippi’s former Governor Phil Bryant.

“Favre reportedly hoped to make at least $20 million from biomedical startup Prevacus, which touted a treatment for concussions. Favre, per the report, may have leveraged Bryant for funding and political influence.

“It’s 3rd and long and we need you to make it happen!!” Favre texted Bryant in late 2018.

“I will open a hole,” Bryant replied.

Within days after that exchange, Favre reportedly met with welfare officials to reach an agreement on a $1.7 million investment in Prevacus. Prosecutors contend that money was stolen from federal funding aimed at providing services to the poorest residents of one of the nation’s poorest states.

Two days after Bryant left office in early 2020, he agreed to accept stock in the company.”

All Brett Favre had to do in retirement is lay back and enjoy the fruits of his labor. The guy gave it all on the field, and apparently that mentality has carried over to life after football. If only he could stop messing around with welfare funds in Mississippi.
