Justin Fields Clarifies Comments About Chicago Bears Fans Following Packers Loss

Justin Fields may need to walk back some comments about Bears fans he recently made.

Chicago Bears fans are some of the most loyal and passionate fans in the entire sports world. That excessive passion can quickly turn into anger, which is has as of late following some comments made by the Chicago Bears QB. There has been plenty of outrage surrounding some of Justin Fields’ comments following the stinging loss on Sunday Night Football to the Green Bay Packers.

The second year QB made it clear to the fan base that it hurts in the locker room following losses.

“It hurts more in the locker room than to Bears fans, obviously. At the end of the day, they’re not putting in any work. I see the guys in the locker room every day. I see how much work the put in.”

Fields insinuated that Bears fans aren’t impacted by the losses as much as the players are because “they’re not putting in any work.”

Some Bears fans were not happy about his comments, and of course they gladly responded on Social Media.

That’s definitely one way to lose the support of your fan base.

Fields did clarify what he was trying to get across with his comments:

Justin Fields clarifies earlier comments from today. Tells ESPN via Twitter, “what I meant was we know how much it hurts the fans. Especially the die hards. Like Bob from Schaumburg. I heard he broke his TV and hasn’t talked to his kids since the game. Those are the real MVPs.”

Justin Fields completed seven out of his 11 attempts for 70 yards, throwing 1 interception and zero touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers. Fields also had eight carries for 20 yards on the ground and scored the Bears’ only touchdown on a three-yard run in the first quarter. Bears fans definitely aren’t the most forgiving bunch. Now all he needs to do is win, as we all know, winning cures all.
