Justin Fields Makes Honest Admission About Current State Of The Bears

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has had to deal with a lot of BS during his short time in Chicago.

After the Matt Nagy experiment with Fields failed miserably in year one, the QB is now back to square one — trying to learn a whole new system with different faces all over the offense.

While fans are chomping at the bit to see what Justin Fields has in store for his second season, the QB admitted that the Bears aren’t really close to being ready for the start of the NFL season.

“Uh, no,” he said via Bro Bible. “I’m not ready for the season to start.”

He would later elaborate.

Last season, Justin Fields came into the year as the backup quarterback to Andy Dalton. But this time around, there’s no mistake: Fields is the quarterback, and teammates have already noticed him taking the next step in his development.

“His leadership has taken a step,” said veteran guard Cody Whitehair. “And that just comes with him being more comfortable from Year 1 to Year 2, [having] a little bit more experience, seeing things a second time or third time or fourth time, and he’s only going to continue to grow.”

Things were all over the place last year in Chicago, and it’s going to take time before the Bears can build a competent offense.

Justin Fields seems to know this whole thing isn’t going to come together overnight.
