Derek Carr Reacts to Colin Kaepernick Potentially Joining the Raiders

Colin Kaepernick got a chance to workout for the Raiders.

Most assumed it was a publicly stunt, but apparently Derek Carr isn’t one of those people. Carr said he would welcome him after a Tuesday minicamp practice when he was asked his thoughts on Kaepernick, who previously worked out for Vegas in May.

“I don’t want to speak for everybody in that kind of sense — I don’t want someone mad at me for saying, ‘I think it would be great,’ — but I know him and I would get along great,” Carr told reporters.

“I think for the most part, I think he’d get along great with our guys,” added Carr.

Carr’s known Kaepernick for years, the two QB’s played in the Western Athletic Conference.

“I’ve told you guys, I’ve loved my time with him. I think he’s a great guy,” said Carr. “He’s been great to be around. I’ve enjoyed being around him, talking with him, competing against him.”

Kaepernick last played in the NFL back in 2016, and it wasn’t pretty. He won one game in 11 starts with San Francisco. That season he was sacked 36 times and completed less than 60% of his passes. Plus he fumbled nine times.

I still am not buying the Raiders interest in signing Kaepernick.
