Aaron Donald is playing hardball.
After the Rams Super Bowl victory, immediately rumors of Aaron Donald’s impending retirement began to surface. The Los Angeles Rams defensive star squashed those rumors after he said he wanted to run it back during the Super Bowl parade.
Retirement appears to be very be an option for Donald as it was reported back in May.

Now Donald is speaking out, and according to him, he’s not about to worry about not playing anymore. Donald made it clear during a recent episode of the “I Am Athlete” podcast that he would be “at peace” if he retired a Super Bowl Champion.
“I don’t need to play football to be fine. I was blessed to play this game, to make the money I made, the accomplishments I made in eight years is, like, I’m complete. If I can win another one, that’s great. But if not, I’m at peace.”
Sounds like Aaron Donald is fine with either option. Get paid to play, or don’t get the deal you want and ride off into the sunset.
Donald has all the leverage, and this is his way of sending a message of urgency to the Rams. That’s exactly how you negotiate.
