John Wall Speaks Out On Hardest Two Years Of His Life: ‘Thought About Committing Suicide’

John Wall is speaking out on his rough last few years.

The current NBA player has had a very tough go of it the last several years during his time away from the court. Wall tore his Achilles and missed over a year while he recovered from the devastating injury. Then the pandemic happened and he was also traded to a team that he didn’t particularly want to play for. On a personal level, Wall faced numerous tragedies, as his grandmother and mom died within a relatively short time of one another. Apparently this led to some very dark days for Wall. Recently, the Los Angeles Clippers point guard opened up about his mental health over the past two years.

“Darkest place I ever been,” Wall said. “At one point in time, I thought about committing suicide. My mom being sick. My mom passing. My grandma passed a year later. […] Find a therapist. You know a lot of people think, ‘I don’t need help. I can get it through it at any time.’ But, you got to be true to yourself and find out what’s best for you.”

Wall reveals that he was suicidal for a long time, and he sought therapy in order to get better. Wall encouraged others to do the same as it helped him out immensely.

Don’t feel all too bad for Wall, at least from a bank account perspective. According to Spotrac, he’s made $230 million in his career. Looking forward to seeing John hit the hardwood, there’s no better therapy for a baller.
