Andrew Wiggins Opens Up On Desire To Stay With Warriors Long Term

Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole proved to be the shot in the arm the Warriors needed to get over the hump this season. But does that mean they’re in The Bay to stay?

After the Warriors won the championship on Thursday night, both Wiggins and Poole went viral for lamenting the pay day they were both about to receive during an Instagram live session.

During his end of year media availability, Andrew Wiggins continued to hype up the Warriors organization when asked about a potential contract extension.

“I would love to stay here,” Wiggins said Saturday to ESPN. “Being here, this is top-notch. The way they treat the players … we’re all one big family. I feel like a lot of places may say that, but they show it through their actions.”

During his time with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Andrew Wiggins developed a reputation (fair or not) as a lazy guy who was already being deemed a “bust” by many. But during his time in Golden State, he’s proven his worth.

“There was a lot of talk, people have something to say about every little thing, but now I’m happy that I made it here,” Wiggins said. “People didn’t think I could ever be in this position or even be helpful on a championship team. But I’m proving the doubters wrong and I’m going to keep it going.”

Andrew Wiggins certainly proved many people wrong this season, and now the Warriors may be willing to make him a very rich man.
