Drake Had An Especially Brutal Night Betting On The UFC 278 Card

Like many bettors, Drake lost a fortune on the UFC 278 card last night.

After a thrilling card, the night ended with the most unlikely scenario. Leon Edwards was getting wholly outworked and outclassed by welterweight champion Kamaru Usman all fight long. But with one minute remaining, Edwards was able to land an absurd leg-kick knock out, stealing the belt from he jaws of defeat.

Before the card Drake put a ton of money on Jose Aldo to defeat Merab Dvalishvili. After losing $270K on that one, the rapper doubled-down with Kamaru Usman to finish Leon Edwards. He also took Usman to win in the fourth round of the fight.

All in all, Drake ended up losing around half a million on the card.

Perhaps Kamaru Usman fell victim to the Drake curse, or maybe he just got cocky. Either way, we’ll be remembering the Leon Edwards triumph for a long time to come.

After the defeat, Usman too to social media to comment on his mindset.

“Champs f$ck up sometimes… but we bounce back and come with vengeance!!” he said on Twitter.

After the win, UFC president Dana White spoke on the unpredictable nature of his sport.

“That’s how crazy the sport is,” White said. “It’s what makes this sport the greatest sport in the world. You can sit through four rounds and four minutes and that can happen in a fight. Anything is possible in this sport.”

White would go on to say that a trilogy bout between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards is likely next for both fighters. Which means not only will Drake have a shot at redemption, but Usman, as well.
