Field Of Dreams Game: Vin Scully’s Chilling Intro Goes Viral All Over The Web

The voice of baseball, Vin Scully, has his presence felt in Dyersville, Iowa tonight prior to the Field of Dreams Game between the Reds and Cubs.

In the introduction of the game, Fox played a recent sound bite from the recently deceased Scully.

In the clip, Vin Scully has heard reading off the famous “people will come” line from the movie.

After Vin Scully passed away earlier in the month, many current and former people in and around the game of baseball sent love to the broadcaster who’s widely regarded as the greatest to ever do it in the game of baseball.

In the first game back at Dodgers Stadium since Scully’s death, manager Dave Roberts addressed the crowd before an on-field ceremony.

“This moment right now he really deserved,” Roberts said with his team gathered around in front of the pitcher’s mound. “Vin was a man of character, integrity, class. A true gentleman. And he wasn’t just a Dodger. He loved the game of baseball that we all love and care about.”

The skipper then hit the crowd with  Scully’s patented “it’s time for Dodgers baseball!” line.

Vin Scully encapsulated the game of baseball for so many years. And for so many people, “Field of Dreams” plays a major role in their love for the game.

So yeah, it’s only fitting that Scully was given a nod by the Fox broadcast tonight before the game. And while we’ll always miss Vin Scully, we’ll carry his iconic voice with us for generations to come.
