Washington Nationals Trashed Over Farewell Tweet To Juan Soto

It’s safe to say Washington Nationals fans aren’t very happy that the team traded away Juan Soto.

After the blockbuster move was announced prior to the Trade Deadline yesterday, Nats fans swarmed social media to share their displeasure with GM Mike Rizzo.

Today, the Nationals tweeted out a long farewell to Juan Soto with the caption “forever”.

Being as Juan Soto is still just 23 years old, fans didn’t find the “forever” caption appropriate.

Juan Soto had his introductory press conference with the Padres this afternoon, where San Diego GM AJ Preller spoke on being able to acquire a plater of Soto’s caliber.

“We feel like we’re better,” general manager A.J. Preller said on Tuesday. “Obviously, he’s Juan Soto — he speaks for himself. What he’s done at 23 years old and the type of talent he is, he’s arguably the best hitter in baseball. That should be a big help for our club. Getting Josh Bell also, offensively another switch-hitter who’s having a great year that can swing the bat, it should help us a lot.”

Obviously, Juan Soto is a superstar in the league. And being as he’s just scratching the surface of his MLB career, it’s hard to imagine this week ever not stinging for Washington sports fans.
