Yankees Player Got Traded After Engagement Photo Shoot at Yankees Stadium

The business of baseball can be tough.

The New York Yankees shipped pitcher Jordan Montgomery to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for center fielder Harrison Bader on Tuesday, the teams announced. New York also will receive a player to be named later or cash considerations as part of the deal, which was struck just before the trade deadline.

It was only a few days before he was traded that his fiancé was showing off their engagement pics at Yankees stadium.

Jordan Montgomery of the Yankees Fiancee McKenzie Dirr posted only 5 days ago, showing off that they took all of their engagement pictures at Yankee stadium, and now he was traded to the Cardinals, according to our tipster.

Sounds like a total blindside, I mean there’s no way they take pictures at Yankees Stadium if they thought he’d be traded.

“Pretty shocked I guess,” Montgomery said of being traded.

“I still don’t really think I’ve ever performed the way I should here,” he added. “A lot better player than I’ve ever shown, but I think I was consistent and definitely worked my hardest.”

Apparently one of Jordan’s teammates wasn’t too happy eitrher.

Montgomery has been a top performer for the Yankees, posting a 3.77 ERA in 272 innings across 51 starts the past two seasons. However, he was 0-2 with a 5.36 ERA in his last eight outings.

Being traded definitely is not fun.
