Marcell Ozuna Hears Boos In Atlanta Following DUI Arrest

Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna found himself back in the news this week for all the wrong reasons.

After it was reported that Ozuna had been booked for a DUI, a video of him telling cops he’s “Ozuna from the Braves” went viral all over the web.

During his first game back in Atlanta since the DUI arrest, Marcell Ozuna was booed by the Braves faithful when his name was announced.

After the arrest, Marcell Ozuna addressed reporters, but he did not take any questions.

“I disappointed my team,” he said to ESPN. “I disappointed my family. I don’t have anything to say more. It’s a legal matter.”

The Atlanta Braves also released a statement following Ozuna’s latest indiscretion.

“The Atlanta Braves are aware of Marcell Ozuna’s arrest this morning and are still gathering all the facts pertaining to the incident,” the team said in a statement. “Our organization takes these matters very seriously and are obviously disappointed by the situation. As this is a legal matter, we will have no further comment until the process is complete.”

Braves manager Brian Snitker said that he spoke with Marcell Ozuna, but didn’t want to get into any details when pressed further by reporters.

“No, like I said, I think everything’s been said,” Snitker said. “We’re disappointed that it happened, and we’ll just go on.”

On the season, Ozuna is slashing .214/.263/.393. He also has 20 home runs to go along with 46 RBIs for the Braves.

It appears as though the Braves and Marcell are going to keep the DUI in-house, and soldier on with him being a consistent in their lineup.
