Embattled Braves Star Marcell Ozuna Arrested for DUI

Call a fricking Uber.

Atlanta Braves outfielder and designated hitter, Marcell Ozuna, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane by police early this morning according to the Athletic’s David O’Brien. Marcell Ozuna was later booked into Gwinnett County Jail and released early in the morning on a $1,830 bond, per the report.

See the report below:

This is Ozuna’s second arrest in less than 15 months. Ozuna was arrested back in May of 2021, for aggravated assault strangulation and misdemeanor battery-family violence charges in connection with an incident with his wife in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Ozuna allegedly was seen by police grabbing his wife’s neck and throwing her against the wall.

Back in March Ozuna apologized to his teammates over the incident.

“I said I’m sorry. I made a mistake,” Ozuna said he told teammates.

“I would just tell them, treat me as the person I was before,” the two-time All-Star said. “Like, I was an amazing person out and in the field. So I’m going to be like that.”

Major League Baseball  eventually suspended Ozuna for 20 games in 2021 for that arrest, and the Braves star entered a diversion program and received six months probation.

Marcell Ozuna is in the second year of the four-year $65 million contract he signed with the Braves.Atlanta still owes Ozuna more than $41 million.

Good luck trying to part ways with that.
