Massive Package Being Sent From Padres To Nationals For Juan Soto Revealed

From late last night to early today, the San Diego Padres have emerged as the top potential suitor for Nationals superstar Juan Soto at today’s Trade Deadline.

Sure enough, it was announced this morning that the Nationals and Padres have agreed upon a deal to send Soto to San Diego.

Shortly after the initial report, ESPN’s Jeff Passan revealed the massive package being sent from the Padres to the Nationals for Juan Soto.

According to Passan, the Nationals will be receiving LHP MacKenzie Gore, OF Robert Hassell III, SS C.J. Abrams, OF James Wood, RHP Jarlin Susana, and one more MLB player.

Of course, this is probably the biggest package of prospects we’ve ever seen sent in an MLB trade. But being as Juan Soto is still just 23 years old, it’ll still leave a sour taste in Washington fans’ mouths for a long time to come.

Now, Padres GM AJ Preller has a core consisting of Manny Machado, Juan Soto, and Fernando Tatis Jr. for the foreseeable future, and anything short of a World Series championship in the next three years would be considered a disappointment.

Either way, it’s an incredibly exciting day to be a San Diego Padres fan.
