It appears as though the Yankees will be without slugger, Giancarlo Stanton, for a while.
With the Yanks in comfortable position of first place in the AL East, manager Aaron Boone revealed ahead of the Subway Series that Stanton will be expected to be shelved ‘2-3 weeks’ with an achilles injury.
Though that guess is just considered a ‘loose estimate’ for now.
Giancarlo Stanton requested an MRI yesterday that showed tendinitis in his Achilles, according to Aaron Boone. The initial timeframe for his return is 2-3 weeks, though that’s just a loose estimate.

This is obviously unfortunate news for Yankees fans, as well as Giancarlo Stanton, because the outfielder was really starting to look like his former Marlins self this season.
On the year, Stanton is hitting just .228, but already has 24 home runs to go along with 61 RBIs for the Bronx Bombers.
Sure, the latest Giancarlo Stanton news is going to sting for New York fans. But all that really matters is that they have him back to 100% ahead of the postseason.
