Jon Rahm Barks Back At Heckler During Third Round Of BMW Championship

Jon Rahm is known for having one of the shortest tempers on the PGA Tour, and today a heckler felt his wrath.

Following a miss-hit on an approach shot, Rahm heard a fan shout something towards him. After a long stare down, Rahm ended up telling the heckler to “walk away”.

We’d love to hear what this fan yelled towards Jon Rahm to make him so angry, and perhaps he’ll reveal what made him snap later in the day.

After catching fire today with a 7-under 65 today, Rahm now sits at -5 on the tournament, five strokes off of leader Xander Schauffele for the time being.

Rahm has had a lot of success at this particular tournament. At the BMW Championship, Rahm has four top-10 finishes in five starts, including a win in 2020

“I had no idea,” Rahm said of his stellar record to Golfweek. “I sometimes don’t want to know those things. I don’t want to think about it.”

With the FedEx Cup Playoffs in full swing, Jon Rahm admitted that he isn’t necessarily interested in standings — he just wants to win.

“My goal is to finish as high as possible on the leaderboard. I play to win; and if not, I’m going to try to finish second; and if not, third; and so on. 30th is better than 31st. Simple as that, right?” explained Rahm. “My mindset doesn’t really change. I know the consequences could be greater if going into next week if you miss a shot or not, but you can’t be down the stretch thinking, ‘If I don’t make a birdie, I’m going to be in 17th place next week.’

“When you do with that, it’s a consequence of what you do on the golf course, and I just choose to focus on what I have to do at the moment.”
