Georgia Football Player Gets Arrested For Doing Social Media Challenge

Going viral has its consequences.

According to UGASports, junior defensive lineman Warren Brinson was allegedly taking part in what’s known as the “Orbeez Challenge” on TikTok.

The “Orbeez Challenge” is apparently a social media challenge where people use a gel-ball gun to shoot water gel beads at strangers while recording. He allegedly pulled up to a group of people he thought he recognized. Turns out he didn’t know them, and now, those strangers who were hit have filed charges against him…

“If you terrorize people w/ the #OrbeezChallenge, we’ll arrest you,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office tweeted. “Shooting a gel-bead gun at someone isn’t a prank. It’s a crime. Not only can it cause serious injuries, it puts your life at risk. It would only take a moment of panic for someone to fire back – w/ real bullets.”

For the uninitiated, a Splatrball gun is like a neutered BB gun that shoots water balls.

Totally should be illegal to whip out in public, but still just a really dumb thing to spend a night in jail for. If he shot them drive-by fashion I’m surprised they even felt them.

But still totally foolish. People should really think twice before the try to recreate a Social Media Challenge.
