Washington Football Team Head Coach Ron Rivera Officially Cancer Free

The man in charge of the Washington Football Team is in the clear. It’s been a wild ride for former player turned coach, Ron Rivera. Rivera was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer in his lymph nodes back in August, shortly before Washington was due to begin its first season with Rivera at as the head coach. Rivera had to undergo seven rounds of treatment since then, but in late October, he was able to ring the bell after having completed that care.

Now he’s 100% cancer free. His daughter took to Twitter to share the great news:

Impressively, Rivera didn’t miss a single game this entire season. The only thing to debate is whether it is more miraculous that Ron Rivera overcame cancer so quickly, or that he was able to get the Washington Football Team to the playoffs this year. Riverboat Ron is truly an inspiration to all.
