Warren Moon Says He Had ‘Several’ Gay Teammates

Former NFL star Quarterback Warren Moon has revealed that during his time playing for the NFL, he had several gay teammates. Earlier this week Raiders defensive players Carl Nassib became the first openly gay player in NFL history.

“What’s up people, I’m Carl Nassib, I’m at my house here in Westchester, Pennsylvania. I just want to take a quick moment to say that I’m gay,” he said on Instagram.

Since the news broke, Nassib has the #1 selling jersey in the league.

Warren Moon says there are many gay players in the NFL.

Carl is just the first to go public.

“We live in a different time now where diversity is much more accepted. Cheers Carl, and I hope this lets other athletes know, its OK to say who you are,” Moon tweeted.

He added, “Really proud of Carl Nassib. The first active football player to ever do so. I played with several guys who never were comfortable enough to go public. They were great teammates, & obviously very talented.

There’s no doubt there have been several gay players to play in the NFL.

Hopefully Nassib will allow more players to come forward. The stigma is slowly dissipating.
