Walker Buehler Doesn’t Want To Talk About His Pants

Walker Buehler took the ball as the NLCS between the Braves and Dodgers kicked off last night. The game came down to the wire, with the Braves erupting for a four-run 9th inning to take Game 1 by a score of 5-1.

While the game was a source for plenty of excitement, people took notice of another storyline, Walker Buehler’s pants.

The pants garnered enough interest on social media for a reporter to ask Buehler an awkward question after the game.

“Walker Buehler’s pants were trending on Twitter tonight,” he asked.

Buehler responded by saying, “not the time or place, Michael”.

Is it just me, or did Buehler seem weirdly ready for that question? Maybe he was aware of the pants situation before taking the mound. Maybe he actually did have to wear someone else’s pants for his start. Who knows? I’m kind of curious to find out, though.

I’m with Walker Buehler here. Save that question for another time. Buehler’s team just had a tough loss in a playoff game. At least wait for him to digest the loss before bombarding him with dumb questions like this.

In the game, Buehler battled through a blister to give the Dodgers 5 innings, allowing just one run on a home run by Freddie Freeman. The Dodgers ace wound up taking a no-decision.

Buehler is slated to start Game 6, if necessary, but injuries to the starting rotation may force Dave Roberts to use Buehler earlier. Clayton Kershaw was a late scratch for Game 2 with back spasms. It is unclear if and when Kershaw will be available to pitch for Los Angeles.

Whenever Buehler does take the ball, maybe we will all get an answer about the tight pants.
