Tua Tagovailoa Has Been Named The Starter For The Miami Dolphins

It’s Tua time.

In a surprising move, Brian Flores has named Tua Tagovailoa his starter going forward.

This comes as a surprise to many because of how well Ryan Fitzpatrick had been doing in the starting gig. Fitzpatrick led the Dolphins to a 24-0 win over the lowly Jets on Sunday. He has the Dolphins at 3-3, one game back of the Bills for first place in the AFC East. People have been questioning the timing of this move.

Could Jerry Jones be looking at for some Fitzmagic after an abysmal showing from Andy Dalton and his entire Cowboys team against the Cardinals?

Fitzpatrick has been a consumate pro  throughout his career, and has been a great role model for Tua. I’d expect Fitzy to continue to be an asset for the young QB, unless he really is on the trading block.

Not many were expecting the Dolphins to be a contender at all this year, but maybe the mentality has changed in Miami. Maybe they see Tua Tagovailoa as the guy who can take a good football team and make them great.

Whatever the case may be, I’m excited. The talent at QB around the NFL right now may be the best it’s ever been. Tua will add to that. I’d love to see Tagovailoa come in and dominated. But let’s pump the breaks a little, he’ll probably need some time to adjust to the NFL.

Tua made his first NFL appearance last week at the end of the Jets game. He went 2-2 passing for just 9 yards.
