Knicks Owner James Dolan Sends An Email Saying That He’s Not Going to Issue a Public Statement About George Floyd, Knicks Players & Employees Reportedly Furious

In what is the craziest year we have ever witnessed, one thing remains consistent and that’s the Knicks doing Knicks things. According to ESPN’s Pablo Torre, Knicks players and employees are furious that a public statement about George Floyd had yet to be made as of Monday night from owner James Dolan:

Torre also posted an e-mail he obtained from Knicks owner James Dolan to Madison Square Garden employees which defended the decision to remain silent:

“We know that some of you have asked about whether our company is going to make a public statement about the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer. I want you to know, I realize the importance of this issue. Therefore, I want you to understand our internal position.

This is a turbulent time in our country. The coronavirus and civil unrest have taken their toll on our way of life. We at Madison Square Garden stand by our values of a respectful and peaceful workplace. We always will.

As Companies in the business of sports and entertainment, however, we are not any more qualified than anyone else to offer our opinion on social matters. What’s important is how we operate. Our companies are committed to upholding our values, which include creating a respectful workplace for all, and that will never change. What we say to each other matters. How we treat each other matters. And that’s what will get us through this difficult time.”

The Knicks are certainly not qualified to do many things, but this is one thing that they are qualified to do. James Dolan is absolutely amazing. He literally never fails in making himself look like a complete jackass in any situation. It’s like he’s allergic to not being a jackass. Dolan is your friend who you always bet against. If your friend bets the Broncos, you bet the Chiefs. If James Dolan does anything, you just do the opposite. It’s a surefire way to never make a mistake.

Torre also notes that only two NBA teams have not posted a statement, the Spurs and the Knicks, but Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich had plenty to say earlier today:

Maybe we can take some comfort in knowing that the Knicks are still the Knicks in 2020 during these tumultuous times. The Knicks organization behaving rationally would truly make me believe that the apocalypse is coming.
