Troy Aikman Doesn’t Think Dak Prescott Will Play Under The Franchise Tag Again: ‘That Will Be The Last We See Of Dak Prescott’

Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman has some strong thoughts on how the team is botching the situation with quarterback Dak Prescott.

Aikman spoke out to The Dallas Morning News about how he feels the team should have invested in Dak a long time ago. Aikman also believes that Dak Prescott didn’t lose any value by getting injured last season. In fact, he thinks that because Dallas looked so bad in the absence of Prescott, that his price tag should actually go up.

Oh, and Aikman also thinks it would be stupid to place the franchise tag on Prescott for the second consecutive year. He doesn’t think Dak would welcome that option.

“I’d be really surprised if he’s playing under the franchise tag again this year,’’ Aikman said. “My guess is if he is, that will be the last we see of Dak Prescott.

“I just can’t imagine that he’s going to feel really good giving an open negotiation to the Cowboys if he’s played two years under the franchise tag.’’

Troy Aikman’s word don’t mean nothing. In fact, I think they carry a little bit of weight with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys’ brass. This is a guy who fans and current players look up to. Good organizations listen to their alumni when they have ideas.

If Jerry Jones listens to Troy Aikman, he’ll make Dak Prescott an offer he can’t refuse very soon.
