Fans Are Speculating That Tom Brady Was Talking About Jimmy Garoppolo With Epic Dig

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady made news on Monday when he said during an interview that a team backed off of him during last year’s free agency, opting to stick with their current quarterback.

“You’re sticking with that motherfucker?” Brady said he was thinking at the time.

While Brady didn’t reveal which team and quarterback he was referring to, fans all over started speculating. The general consensus from NFL fans is that they seem to think Tom Brady was talking about the San Francisco 49ers electing to stick with his former teammate, Jimmy Garoppolo.

It’s pretty much a known thing that Tom Brady was fed up with Bill Belichick viewing Jimmy Garoppolo as his replacement during their time in New England. This added to the reported disconnect between Belichick and Brady, and ultimately resulted in Jimmy G being traded away to the 49ers.

While Jimmy Garoppolo hasn’t been bad with San Francisco, he’s proven himself to be no Tom Brady. Jimmy G made a Super Bowl, but injuries and limited-mobility have hindered the Niners’ ability to get over the hump. They’ve now opted to draft his replacement, Trey Lance. And it’s only a matter of time before Jimmy is looking for his next home.

While we’ll likely never know who Tom Brady was talking about in this interview, Jimmy Garoppolo and the Niners is about as good of a guess as you could have.
