While Phil Mickelson has been ruled out of The Masters next month, many were wondering if there was any shot Tiger Woods could give it a go.
On Monday afternoon, it was announced that Mickelson was set to miss out on his first Masters in the past 30 years following his hiatus over some controversial comments made about the new Saudi League — which is supposedly coming to compete with he PGA Tour for top players around the world.

But in the midst of the Phil Mickelson news, it was also reported that Tiger Woods was not officially on the “no” list for The Masters.

With the new spotlight shined on him (thanks to Phil Mickelson pulling out), fans were increasingly excited about the possibility that Tiger Woods may have decided to give it his best shot at The Masters.
Earlier in the year, Woods proclaimed that he was still not where he wanted to be physically to compete regularly on the PGA Tour.
“I wish I could tell you when I’m playing again,” Woods said during last month’s Genesis Invitational. “I want to know, but I don’t. My golf activity has been very limited. I can chip and putt really well and hit short irons very well, but I haven’t done any long stuff seriously. I’m still working. Like at the PNC, I’m still working on the walking part.
Perhaps Tiger Woods still has a ways to go in his recovery before we see him competing again. Or perhaps The Masters is just the perfect tournament for him to try it out for the first time since his car crash.
Here’s to hoping it’s the latter. What a story it would be if Tiger tries to push through his injuries at Augusta National next month.
