Tiger Woods Could Be An Assistant Coach For The Ryder Cup

PGA legend Tiger Woods has been away from golf and out of the spotlight ever since his single-car crash in California left him in need of surgery. Now, Tiger is continuing his rehab on multiple injuries while the rest of us wait anxiously to hear if he’ll ever be able to play golf again.

While Tiger will likely not be able to engage in any physical activity for a long time, it’s possible he returns to golf in a different capacity. USA Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker said he has been in-touch with Tiger, and hopes that he can help him coach Team USA.

“I’ve talked to [Woods]. I don’t know if we are there yet to commit to him being there,” Stricker said, per ESPN’s Bob Harig. “He’s still got a lot going on, and his spirits are great, though, as of late.

“We were on a Zoom call with him just last week, and he seems like he’s in a better place. He’s still got some ways to go.”

Woods suffered multiple fractures to his right leg as well as foot and ankle injuries in the brutal car crash.

Luckily, Tiger Woods appears to be in good spirits while he makes strides in his recovery. Tiger was last seen attending a golf tournament that his son, Charlie, was playing in.

Even if Tiger Woods can’t play, it would be nice to see him be a part of the Ryder Cup in late September. Hopefully he can make it happen.
