Stephen Strasburg Was Pissed Off That Cameras Were Filming Him In The Tunnel

Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg looks like a shell of his former self to start the 2021 MLB season. Yesterday, the St. Louis Cardinals roughed up Strasburg to the tune of seven earned runs in 4+ innings of work.

During the game, the Cardinals’ TV broadcast caught Strasburg massaging his neck/shoulder area, leading to speculation that he might be dealing with some discomfort.

After the game, Strasburg assured everyone that he was fine.

I just threw a lot of poor pitches. And they made me pay for it,” Strasburg told the media via BroBible.

He added that he wasn’t happy that cameras were on him while he was in the tunnel.

“There has to be some sort of safe space in the stadium,” Strasburg said. “There have been plenty of other starts where something is not feeling right, and whether you treat yourself or you have a trainer come treat you, it’s just part of the business. I went out there and I gave it everything I had; it wasn’t good enough tonight. There should be some sort of privacy. People don’t watch the games on TV to watch some sort of spy camera watching what the player is doing in the tunnel.”

Nationals manager Davey Martinez agreed with his pitcher.

“Quite honestly, that shot shouldn’t have been shown, so I’m a little perturbed about that,” said Martinez. “It shouldn’t be there. Honestly, that camera, there are rules and regulations about that. It’s not supposed to go down in the tunnel. It’s in black and white.”

Hopefully Stephen Strasburg fixes whatever is going on with him right now. Something tells me he won’t care what cameras do if he gets back to his dominant form.
