Steph Curry Responds To The MVP Talks

In the past couple of weeks, Steph Curry has taken the NBA by storm. He is reminding everyone how unique a player he is and proving he is one of the best to ever do it. The Golden State Warriors point guard has been on a rampage in the month of April, doing his best to make a late-season MVP push.

In 10 games since the start of the month, Curry is averaging 40.8 points per game, while shooting 54.9 percent from the field, 50.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 90.9 percent from the free-throw line. He’s made 72 three-pointers during that stretch has scored more than 30 points in 11 straight games.

So are Steph Curry’s late-season heroics worthy of an MVP vote? We, Steph Curry, himself, sure seems to think so.

In a recent appearance on a podcast, former NBA player Rex Chapman asked the Warriors All-Star if he thinks he’s the league’s Most Valuable Player this year. Here is what Steph Curry had to say for himself.

“I mean, I gotta be,” Curry answered with a shrug. “I probably won’t get it but whatever… I like to be dramatic sometimes, so I’m just setting the table.”

As of right now, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid remain the prohibitive favorites for the NBA’s MVP this year. However, Steph Curry is definitely doing what it takes to make a name for himself. You have probably heard about his weird ritual of checking his mentions on Twitter at halftime for motivation. People must have been saying some cruel things about Steph Curry this month because the man is out for blood.

At the end of the day, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are just 29-29 and sit in the 9th spot in the West. Should Curry continue to keep playing like he has been this month, the Warriors may make a late-season push into playoff contention, making Steph a strong candidate for MVP.
