Simone Biles Voices Her Support For Mikaela Shiffrin Following Disappointing Olympics

Simone Biles knows Mikaela Shiffrin’s pain right now.

In the latest Summer Olympics, Biles was a heavy favorite to take home some medals. But after battling a case of the “spins” as well as some mental health obstacles, she sat out a few events after uncharacteristically underachieving.

In the 2022 Winter Olympics, American skier Mikaela Shiffrin followed a similar fate — failing to medal in any event throughout the games.

When Shiffrin took to Instagram to open up on her disappointment, Biles was quick to come to her defense.

I know this all too well. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this! people suck…. damned if you do damned if you don’t,” Biles commented on Shiffrin’s Instagram post.

Mikaela Shiffrin came into the Olympics as a favorite to win multiple gold medals, but recorded three “did not finishes” before coming in ninth in the super-G event.

In her Instagram post, Shiffrin vowed to come back stronger.

“Get up because you can, because you like what you do when it’s not infested with the people who have so much apparent hate for you,” she wrote on Instagram.

Simone Biles followed up on her initial support of Mikaela Shiffrin.

“Just remember how AMAZING you are, we’re all cheering for you, proud of you, love & support you! Go kick some ass Saturday! But most importantly, embrace the moment. Have fun love ya!!!!” she added.
