Sidney Crosby Trade Rumors Are Starting To Swirl

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is one of the greatest hockey players to ever lace em up. When we see a career as special as what “Sid the kid” has done in Pittsburgh, we tend to think that the player will play their entire career with that organization. Not always the case.

While Sidney Crosby remains a pretty damn good hockey player, the Penguins aren’t what they used to be. Pittsburgh has began the season 7-6-1, and currently sit in fifth place in the East Division.

Crosby could very well be a part of the solution for the mediocre penguins, but reports are starting to pick up that Crosby could be traded in the offseason if Pittsburgh doesn’t make the playoffs.

Earlier in the week, TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger said he would “not be at ALL surprised” if Sidney Crosby went to the team’s new management in the offseason and asked to be traded. Crosby is now 33-years-old, has dealt with injuries and would likely want no part of a rebuild if that’s the direction the team goes.

Now, it is still early in the season. If Crosby and the Penguins are able to turn their season around, he won’t go anywhere. If not, we could be looking at Sidney Crosby wearing a new uniform next season.
