Russell Wilson Reportedly Could Still Be Traded To The Bears

Chicago Bears fans are currently distraught after the team was turned down by Seattle in their pursuit of Russell Wilson, and settled for Andy Dalton.

But wait, HOLD THE PHONE. Is it still possible that the Bears could somehow land Russell Wilson? Credible reporters are still leaving the door open for a potential Wilson trade. First, ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared his belief that a Russ trade isn’t dead.

Now, Jeff Darlington is also saying that Wilson could still be moved. Darlington has gone on a few different shows and podcasts, and said he still doesn’t think Russell Wilson will be in Seattle come the start of next season.

“I don’t fully believe that Russell Wilson plays in Seattle in 2021,” Darlington said on The Ringer’s podcast. “I still just believe
where there’s smoke with Russ Wilson, there’s fire. When you start naming teams that you’re willing to play for, you’re one foot out the door. Very rarely in the NFL, as recently as Tom Brady, when someone puts one foot out the door, they usually don’t come back in.”

Darlington’s comments come after Adam Schefter said that the Bears front office ‘hasn’t abandoned hope’ of a Russell Wilson trade.

Look, there are a million reason why Russell Wilson won’t be a Chicago Bear next season. The team has cap issues, don’t have a high draft pick to trade, don’t have a quarterback to trade, their coach and GM are on the hot seat, etc. But credible reporters are still not sold that the Bears-Russell Wilson talks are done.

That should be enough for Bears fans to keep their hopes alive.
