Robert Griffin III Reveals Decision To Join ESPN

Former Heisman winner and NFL QB, Robert Griffin III, has agreed to terms with ESPN to join the Mothership as a college football and NFL analyst. RG3 will also be involved in ESPN’s studio coverage, which will include the College Football Playoff and the Super Bowl. Griffin’s move to broadcasting created a bidding war for the former electric signal caller.

RG3 is now explaining why he chose to go with ESPN over the other guys, and his decision to hang up the cleats.

“ESPN has been great through this whole process and understanding that I still want to play,” Griffin said, per Joe Reedy of the Associated Press. “I still love the game. If that opportunity doesn’t come, I’ll be giving everything I have to ESPN and this process.”

He will stay ready just in case a team comes calling:

“I think it’s a fun thing for me to be able to do a little bit of studio and call games. It’s a perfect situation,” Griffin said. “I am continuing to work out, stay ready and prepare for everything that could be coming in the future.”

What could have been if Griffin never got hurt.

He came out fast and furious in the NFL,  but his best days are clearly in the rear view mirror.
