Report: Dallas Cowboys Make Decision on Head Coach

It looks like Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy isn’t going anywhere.

McCarthy has apparently been told that he’ll return to coach the Dallas Cowboys next season, according to USA Today’s Jori Epstein and ESPN’s Ed Werder.

“Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has been told that he will return in 2022, a source confirmed to ESPN’s Ed Werder on Thursday.

Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones has so far declined to commit to McCarthy’s return publicly after Dallas’ playoff exit with a wild-card round loss to the San Francisco 49ers.”

Speculation about McCarthy’s future in Dallas was up in the air following them being knocked out of the Playoffs.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones declined to get into specifics regarding McCarthy’s job security, but he said he was “very, very frustrated and upset.”

“I’ve got a lot to think about regarding these coaches,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “I’ve got a lot to think about regarding scouts. I’ve got a lot to think about regarding various aspects of the organization.”

Sounds like they’re going to go year to year with McCarthy.

We know as soon as Sean Payton is available,  they’ll back up the brinks truck for him.
