Rangers Announce Rougned Odor Won’t Make The Team And All Anybody Wants To Talk About Is The Time He Clocked Jose Bautista

The Texas Rangers announced on Monday that longtime second baseman Rougned Odor would not be making their roster this season.

While Odor had a solid seven seasons in Texas, perhaps the main thing he’ll be remembered for is that time he punched Jose Bautista after a hard slide into second base. At least that’s all anyone on social media wanted to talk about after it was announced the team was moving on.

Is that enough Rougned Odor vs. Jose Bautista content for one day?

In the defense of everyone who were quick to jump on the Bautista narrative after today’s news, we don’t see fights in baseball too much. Even when we do, it’s extremely rare that a clean punch ever lands. Rougned Odor was able to accomplish that, and he’ll be remembered forever for it.

As for his his play on the field? Maybe not as much. Odor came into the league when he was just 20-years-old, and looks destined to be a star for many years to come. Unfortunately, it just didn’t pan out. It happens.

Now, Rougned Odor is still only 28-years-old, and he’ll be looking for a new home. Maybe a change of scenery will prove to be what Odor needs to get back on track. If not, he’ll still be remembered fondly for his right hook.
