Patrick Beverley Denies That He Ever Told Steph Curry ‘The Next Five Years Are Mine’

It’s the Patrick Beverley story that everyone likes to use when they’re trolling the veteran point guard.

When it appeared that the Clippers were establishing themselves as contenders in the Western Conference in 2019, Beverley and the squad blew out the Golden State Warriors in a game early in the season.

According to a report, Patrick Beverley and Steph Curry had a little back-and-forth during that game.

Per Bleacher Report:

“‘You had the last five years,’ Beverley told Curry, according to a source. ‘The next five years are mine.’ To that, Curry laughed and replied, “Aren’t you 31?'”

When Patrick Beverley got traded twice this offseason, many fans had jokes about him once telling Steph Curry the infamous line.

But Beverley says the whole story is made up.

After all the offseason moves, Patrick Beverley finds himself in a leadership role on a young Timberwolves team looking to make strides towards their future.

So far, the veteran Beverley is embracing the new gig.

There’s no way we can ever truly know if Patrick Beverley told Steph Curry “the next five years are mine” In 2019.
