Nick Foles Speaks On Potential Colts Trade After The Carson Wentz Injury News

Could we see a quarterback room of Carson Wentz and Nick Foles form once again?

On Monday morning, it was revealed that Wentz would be out for some significant time to undergo foot surgery.

While some fans were calling for Indy to try to pry Philip Rivers out of retirement for one last go at it, perhaps it’s a much more realistic option for them to target the Chicago Bears’ third-string quarterback, Nick Foles.

Foles obviously has the familiarity with Frank Reich and Carson Wentz after winning the 2017 Super Bowl together as a member of the Eagles.

With Chicago having no use for Foles, he spoke on the rumors tying him to the Indianapolis Colts after Training Camp on Monday.

“Listen, Frank Reich is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, coaches of all time. He understands me as a player,” Foles said via NFL.Com. “He understands me as a person. But you know, I haven’t had any talks with them. I’m a Chicago Bear right now. But he knows me, he understands.”

Nick Foles would also say that he doesn’t want to be traded to just any team. After feeling like he was a bad fit with the coaching staff in Jacksonville and now Chicago, Foles wants to go somewhere where he feels comfortable, and can win.

It sure sounds like Nick Foles is lobbying to Frank Reich to make a deal for his services. But after the starting quarterback debate dominated headlines with Foles and Carson Wentz in Philly, would it be a similar story in Indy?

At this point, Frank Reich may be desperate enough to go get his old friend, Nick Foles, and have to live with the potential for a QB controversy when Wentz returns.

It feels likely that the Bears trade Nick Foles at some point this season, and the Colts sure as hell make a lot of sense right now.
