Lamar Jackson Fires Back At Anyone Who Thinks Defenses Have Him Figured Out

Is Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson already past his peak in the NFL?

The former MVP and all-time athlete has been mocked and ridiculed over his sub-par ability to throw the football down the field. But Jackson doesn’t think that will hinder him from carving up defenses in the future.

Last week, ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler revealed that people around the league were telling him, “This might be the year that everybody figures out Lamar Jackson.”

When asked about the notion that he’ll be taking a step back in 2021, Lamar Jackson remained humble, but also had exerted confidence in his ability.

“We’re going to see,” Jackson said via ESPN. “But I doubt it, though. I strongly doubt it.”

After his MVP season in 2019, Lamar Jackson took a small step back in 2020, leading to a lot of skepticism from his critics. But people should probably realize that Jackson is still pretty damn good.

Last season, Jackson finished seventh in the league in total QBR, and ninth in the league in rushing yards (1,206).

Lamar Jackson was said to have had a busy offseason working on his flaws, and some of his teammates have seen a clear difference in the quarterback, even after he had to sit the first ten days of Training Camp due to COVID protocol.

“Lamar is slinging the rock like he didn’t have those 10 days off because of COVID,” tight end Mark Andrews said last week. “He’s more focused than he’s ever been.”

If Lamar Jackson is supposed to have a chip on his shoulder, somebody forgot to tell him. Because in Jackson’s eyes, he’s still one of the most unstoppable players in the NFL.

It seems unfair that anyone would see it differently.
