New Video Shows What Happened Before Dallas Goedert Got Sucker Punched

A new video has emerged from the South Dakota bar fight involving Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert. TMZ published the video on Wednesday, showing the moments before Goedert was struck in the face at Zoo Bar in June.

According to TMZ, the video shows Goedert placing his hand on a man as both move out of the camera view. Later on, Goedert appears to touch the man’s chest again as they head in the opposite direction. The Eagles tight end is then punched in the face by another man who comes from off-screen.

This video has a different view than the one that was widely circulated on social media following the incident.

Kyle Douglas Hadala was charged with two misdemeanors following the fight: simple assault “attempt to cause bodily injury” and simple assault “intentionally cause bodily injury.”

The alleged assault didn’t cause serious bodily harm, so the misdemeanor charges were “simple” under South Dakota law, according to Ernest Thompson, chief deputy state’s attorney for Brown County.

Hadala pleaded not guilty to both charges in July, and his bench trial will begin on Wednesday, according to court records. Hadala told TMZ in July that Goedert and his group of friends had been “harassing” him and his friends at a previous bar over the choice of music being played on the jukebox, calling them “extremely aggressive.”

Following the fight, Goedert was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure. He later confirmed that he wasn’t seriously injured after being punched in the face.

“I haven’t had to deal with (the case) too much,” Goedert said in August. “The next day I was perfectly fine. They put me through concussion protocol just to be safe, but I feel great.”

This is one story he’ll never live down.
