This. This this this.
Perhaps Lloyd Pierce didn’t turn out to be the right coach of this particular team at this particular time, but he has been a voice the NBA, and the state of Georgia, needed, and that matters too. https://t.co/n8FYUy697f— Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) March 1, 2021

Lloyd Pierce doesn’t have long in this league

Lloyd Pierce should've been given all the time he needed to get the Hawks back on track this season. If organizations can have patience with young stars, giving them the rope they need to fail & learn, they can also let young coaches figure things out before coldly dumping them.

Re LLoyd Pierce I am disappointed but not surprised. I've never been of the view that he had shown enough to get to be the coach beyond this year but I feel like he deserved more opportunity than this. Also, it is my view that this move solves none of the most pressing issues.

It sound like the general consensus around Lloyd Pierce is that he was a good man. Should he have been given more of a chance with the Hawks? Probably, but it’s also possible that he just wasn’t a fit with this particular team. The Atlanta Hawks are currently 14-20 on the season, in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.
Maybe they’re thinking an interim coach can actually light a fire into the team.
With that being said, I’d like to see Lloyd Pierce land on his feet somewhere.
