Mike Vrabel Speaks On Ryan Tannehill After Poor Performance In Playoff Loss

During the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs this past weekend, we saw a lot of impressive performances from quarterbacks. But Titans signal caller, Ryan Tannehill, picked a bad time for one of his most lackluster performances.

While the Titans only ended up losing by a last-second field goal by the Bengals, the difference was Tannehill’s turnovers. On the game, the QB was 15-24 for 220 yards one touchdown and three interceptions.

With many Titans fans calling for the team to make an upgrade at the quarterback position, coach Mike Vrabel stood by Ryan Tannehill despite the poor performance on Saturday.

“We have to be great around him, but he’s shown signs of accuracy, of decision-making, to the ability to extend plays and to scramble, and leadership,” Vrabel said. “Those are all things that you look for in a quarterback, and Ryan showed us that. Unfortunately, we turned the ball over on Saturday.”

Will Mike Vrabel Stick With Ryan Tannehill?

Even after losing running back Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill and the Titans were able to secure the #1seed in the AFC. But they were still considered an underdog to make the Super Bowl. And a lot of that is because of Tannehill.

The Titans have a sound team in every phase. But in this day-in-age, it’s becoming more clear that the elite QBs are running the league. And the Titans simply don’t have one of those guys.

Maybe the Titans would look to acquire a quarterback who would allow them to still win even when they don’t play ‘great’. But it’s not that easy.

My guess is that Ryan Tannehill will still be under center when the Titans start their season next year.
