Rapper Meek Mill is getting all kinds of hate hurled towards him online after referencing late NBA legend Kobe Bryant and a helicopter in lyrics released from his new song with Lil Baby. As everyone knows, Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people died in a tragic helicopter in January 2020.
Fans were not happy to see lyrics from the 33-year-old rapper’s song, which included: ‘If I ever lack I’m goin’ out with my choppa, it be another Kobe.’

Later on Thursday, Meek seemingly addressed backlash from fans about the controversial lyric on Twitter.
“Somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it,” he wrote. “Y’all internet antics cannot stop me… shit like zombie land or something! Lol.”
In a follow-up tweet, he added,
“They paying to influence y’all now… [it’s] almost like mind control ‘wake up.’”

Meek has to now know it’s way too soon to be talking about that tragedy in a verse.
No one is going to get behind that lyric.
