When the Vegas Golden Knights traded for Robin Lehner at the deadline last season, it seemed like he would be replacing veteran Marc-Andre Fleury as the No. 1 goalie on a Knights team with Stanley Cup aspirations. But after that move, Fleury has just plugged away, doing what he’s done his whole career β win.
The Knights have been platooning Fleury and Lehner for the past two seasons, but Marc-Andre has answered the bell, and taken over as the primary goaltender for the playoffs this season. And during the first two rounds of the Knights’ postseason run, Fleury has been absolutely incredible.
After Thursday night’s series-clinching win over the high-octane Avalanche, Marc-Andre Fleury became the fourth winningest goaltender in NHL postseason history.

During Vegas’s 5-3 win over the Avs, Fleury was as he has been all year…incredible. He held the Avalanche at bay during a thrilling back-and-forth affair, and made crucial saves to get his team ahead in the third period.
Fans all over the NHL took to social media to give a collective tip of the cap to Marc-Andre Fleury.

I remember covering Marc-Andre Fleury on his last day in Pittsburgh after 2017. Was a public signing at the Dick's Sporting Goods in Cranberry.
On that day, I thought he'd go on and do OK in Vegas.
Didn't think he'd have possibly the best four-year run of his NHL career.

As the Vegas Golden Knights will now go on to face the Montreal Canadiens in the semifinals, it seems like it will be Marc-Andre Fleury’s net from here on out.
The veteran goalie can even cement his legacy as one of the best of our generation if he can push the Knights to the Stanley Cup, and maybe even win one more championship.
Needless to say, Vegas is in good hand with Marc-Andre Fleury in net. And fans everywhere are beginning to hop on the bandwagon.
