Le’Veon Bell: “This has been the best I’ve felt, and I’m ready to show it”

Le’Veon Bell is heading into the 2020 NFL season with a massive chip on this shoulder. Bell, 28, is set to begin his second campaign in New York after a disappointing 2019 season. While speaking to reporters, Bell has insisted he is no longer ‘complacent’ about his past performances.

“This has been the best I’ve felt, and I’m ready to show it,” Bell said Wednesday in a video conference with reporters. “I’m ready to show this is the best Le’Veon Bell that has ever played in the NFL.”

“It’s not something I set my mind to do, but I think I kind of got complacent in my head,” he said. “You have success for six years in the NFL.”

Bell also admitted he was not in quality playing shape going into the 2019 season. Going into 2020, Bell entered training camp at his lowest weight since high school listed at 222.

In Bell’s first season with the Jets, he nearly set career lows for rushing attempts, yards, and tied his career low for touchdowns with only three. The Jets finished the 2019 season 7-9 and third in the AFC East standings. After a dramatic exit from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bell has a lot to prove again going into 2020.
