Kyle Shanahan Slams Chris Simms Amid Mac Jones Rumors

When the San Francisco 49ers moved up to the #3 spot in the upcoming NFL Draft, NBC Sports analyst Chris Simms made the hot-take that he thought Kyle Shanahan was eyeing Alabama QB Mac Jones with the move.

While some other analysts have shared the view that the team could be looking at Jones, Shanahan was asked about the prediction. He didn’t hold back on Chris Simms.

“Chris talks about everything, which is why I haven’t talked to him in a couple years,” Shanahan said during a press conference.

Kyle Shanahan is putting on his best poker face with the draft coming up soon. There is little doubt the the Niners will be drafting a QB with the third pick, but which one?

Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are likely to go #1 an #2 respectively, which would leave Kyle Shanahan choosing between Justin Fields, Trey Lance, and Jones. Mac Jones might be as good of an option as anyone at #3, but Kyle Shanahan doesn’t want anyone to know what he’s doing.
