Kareem Hunt Brings New Fire To The Steelers-Browns Rivalry

Kareem Hunt knows that the game on Sunday is no ordinary game. After what transpired between the Browns and Steelers in last year’s game, I’m not sure it’ll be an “ordinary” game for some time.

We all remember Myles Garrett swinging his helmet at Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph’s head. It was the most blatant form of violence that we’ve seen on a football field in a very long time. If you forgot the melee, here it is.

As Troy Aikman put it, “that’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen on a professional sports field”.

Myles Garett was suspended indefinitely. He claimed that Mason Rudolph used a racial slur, which triggered him to act irrationally. That claim was never confirmed or denied. Kareem Hunt was asked about Myles Garrett, and here’s what he had to say.

“This one’s for Myles,” Hunt said . “This one’s for Cleveland. This one’s for a lot of things. “We love Myles. We’ve got his back no matter what. He’s got ours too.”

Kind of interesting for a team to rally behind the guy who swung a helmet at another man’s head, but I guess you gotta rally behind something.

This game has added meaning, too. Last year, neither team made the postseason, but this year may be a different story, completely. The Browns are 4-1 for the first time in 20 years. The Steelers are 4-0, and looking like a real contender with Ben Roethlisberger back at QB. I expect a log-jam in the AFC North between the Browns, Steelers and Ravens, which means every game they play against each other will carry added importance.

Both the Steelers and the Browns shouldn’t need added motivation this Sunday, but they’ll get it if they remember the events of last season.
