Colts Owner Jim Irsay Takes Shot At Carson Wentz And Fans Are Convinced He’s Looking To Move On

The Carson Wentz experience in Indianapolis didn’t exactly go the way they had hoped. And it seems like owner Jim Irsay knows it might be best to make a change.

Wentz was his usual up-and-down self all season long for a Colts team that relied heavily on running back Jonathan Taylor on offense. And in the end, all they needed was to beat the lowly Jaguars in their last game to make the playoffs. But Wentz picked the worst time for his worst performance of the season; and the team faltered.

When watching this past weekend’s Divisional Round of the playoffs, Jim Irsay made the honest admission that his team needs better out of the quarterback position if they want to be one of the top four teams left standing.

“You can see, clear as day, in The Final 8 NFL Team Playoffs…you need a QB and Offense, who can score 30 or more in Regulation…” Irsay tweeted. Adding, “And a Defense that can hold an opponent under 30!”

Jim Irsay would follow up his original tweet with a message to his fan base.

It sure seems like Jim Irsay’s comments were directed at the play of his quarterback, Carson Wentz.

While the Colts defense was elite all season long, their offense struggled mightily down the stretch, scoring under 20 points in each of their last two games.

Jjim Irsay spent last weekend watching the likes of Joe Burrow, Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. And he knows he simply doesn’t have a “dude” who can put his team over the edge in the biggest stage.

It sounds like the Colts are preparing themselves to be the second team in as many years to move on from Carson Wentz.
