Jets Punter Braden Mann Received Hate Messages for Game Saving Tackle

The New York Jets potentially blew their chance to land superstar Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence when they won their first game of the season last week. Jets punter Braden Mann helped secure the win for the Jets when he made a nice tackle towards the end of the game.

As a result, Jets fans were very upset at Mann, and of course they let him know about it.

“I got a few messages like that,” Mann said, via ESPN. “But whoever says something like that, I don’t think they ever tried to compete at something like this. For us, we get paid to play. We get paid to win.”

Braden Mann had the support of his teammates after making the game saving tackle.

“I couldn’t care less about the social media reaction, to be honest with you,” Mann added.

The Jets need to realize what’s at stake. No one cares if a team wins one game or goes winless, especially with Trevor Lawrence hanging in the balance.
